I can’t be more grateful that we live in a time where science is finally able to understand that health comes not just from what we eat, but the balance between the good and bacteria that comprise so much of what we are as human beings. Bacteria affect our mood, immune response, nutrient absorption and so much more. Parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder are adopting a biomedical approach to healing in order to manage the symptoms and comorbidities of autism.
Can autism be cured? Yes and no. Every child with autism truly is unique. We don’t know what environmental and/or genetic factors are responsible for powder kegging developmental damage, and some children have chromosomal deletions that can not be remediated. What science is clear on, is that these children all suffer symptoms from biological dysfunction such as gut issues, mental disorders, atopic dermatitis, allergies and food sensitivities and much more; all which can be addressed to improve neurological function, symptom management, and a greater quality of life. And yes, in some cases, complete resolution of all symptoms.
